Blurb: Blake Walker is no stranger to tragedy. Immediately following a horrific event years earlier, he was lost for a while until he embraced his Dominant nature and found his true calling. But things change and now he’s back where he started, helping to run his family’s secluded lake lodge.
When pampered Hollywood starlet Shasta Pyke gets into trouble with the law, she’s sent to the wilderness of northern Ontario to cool her heels for a few weeks. There she meets sexy bush pilot Blake, who is tasked with seeing to her needs as the sole guest at the lodge.
Initially, Blake isn’t impressed with the spoiled actress, but he’s happy that her visit allows for his sister Jackie and her kids to go on a much-needed vacation. Try as he might, he can’t figure out what the hell Shasta Pyke is doing so far out of her element.
Shasta’s attracted to Blake’s obvious good looks, but there’s more to him than that. He sees through her armor to the vulnerable little girl she hides from the world. The Daddy Dominant in him craves to shelter her, to make her his own.
Is there any way Shasta will agree to submit to Blake’s Dominance?
Lost & Bound is part of Pandora Spocks’ Dream Dominant Collection, a series of stand-alone novels featuring sexy, Dominant men and the strong, red-haired submissives who find them irresistible. It is a contemporary erotic romance novel with a light BDSM theme, and features a DD/lg relationship. It is intended for mature audiences.

Review: I’ve read everything Pandora Spocks has written and published ever since Luke and Bella. Her work is getting better with each next novel, her style is just as smart and sexy, with a solid dose of romance, adventure, action and sensual kink. She has the ability to create well-rounded, lovable characters of both genders, no matter if they are her protagonists or the secondary players in her stories. The world in which she sets her plots is always well-constructed and with vivid descriptions that allow us to truly get lost in her tale.

One of my favorite BDSM plot lines/situations/themes involves the bratty, arrogant young woman getting knocked down a few pegs and learning more about herself through submission and humility. However, Shasta Pyke, the kickass redhead of the story, a spoiled Hollywood child star and a ‘kitten’ in need of proper taming, turned out to be a lot more than that. She was a merciless tease, not hesitating to use her beauty and charm to her advantage. However, she was also an insecure little girl under her sophisticated ‘armor’ whose strange life of early fame and money left her lost and confused about who she was. The personal drama that pushed her fiery temper and was the reason for Shasta’s brush with the law, the guilt she’s been carrying inside her brought another layer of complexity to her character. Usually, whenever I read an erotic romance with BDSM themes I really hate it when the Dom in the story instantly assumes that the heroine is a submissive. Still, it was done very well in here as it was clear that Shasta could use some guidance and a firm hand that was always missing in her life.

Blake, the bush pilot and ‘mountain’ man, the ‘Daddy’ to her ‘kitten’, has excellent observation skills and powerful intuition. I could buy it that he saw through her act and recognize her vulnerable nature beneath the tough act and flirty starlet attitude. Still, he wasn’t overly arrogant about it and didn’t accept Shasta’s being ‘a natural sub’ as if it was a sure thing. At first, I thought his character would be the ultimate cliché of a macho man living by his own rules. From the very first scene with him, we get to know him as a strong but caring, sensitive soul longing for a very specific kind of connection with the woman by his side. As the blurb stated he was no stranger to tragedy but that didn’t make him cold, hateful or overly cynical. Another thing I really loved was that he and his friend/mentor Scott were regular attendants of BDSM clubs and yet there was none of the usual “I’m using kink play to escape true intimacy and just use women to fill the black hole in me” kind of nonsense. He was a man without commitment issues who was simply exploring his sexuality while looking for his match.

I wasn’t sure how those two would end up together, at times it seemed like an impossible affair. Still, Ms. Spocks worked her magic and made their relationship progress in a really natural way. By the middle of the novel, I was really rooting for Shasta and Blake to stay together. They were completing each other in a perfect way in spite the differences in their lifestyle and proved to be exactly what they needed in spite of the obstacles. Their lovemaking was truly a thing of beauty. Speaking of that, I really loved the sex scenes and the fact that Pandora added more kink and more various play and tools to Shasta and Blake’s scenes. Even if I’m a fan of her writing and enjoyed Luke and Bella I felt that the kink and BDSM themes were way too light. I love her progress in Lost and Bound and how much more adventurous the two characters are. Perhaps the only thing that irked me is the ‘Daddy’ part of the Dom Daddy/Little Girl but that is entirely personal preference. There was nothing even remotely incestuous about their relationship.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book, the emotional and sexual development, the characters, the gorgeous landscapes and the resolution that worked out for the best for everyone involved. If you want a feel good, intelligent and beautifully written story of kink and romance, Pandora Spocks is a great choice. Five Bound Stars.

Review: Sexpossessed by Ian Saul Whitcomb

Author: Ian Saul Whitcomb

Genre: Supernatural, Interracial

Blurb: It’s not really Tim’s fault when he lets his girlfriend get possessed by a lustful ghost. And it’s even less his fault when it turns out the only way to get rid of the horny haunting is through crazy amounts of perverse sex. But as Tim and Liv soon discover, sexorcism alone won’t do the trick, because dead Julia’s nymphomaniacal appetite has a purpose: to feed her growing pregnancy until she fully gestates and rebirths herself. Now, if Tim ever hopes to have a normal life with Liv again, he’ll literally have to go through hell and back bringing Julia to term …

Sexpossessed is an erotic supernatural romp through realms of the occult and the orgasmic, veering from wacky to wanton to warped, brimming with vividly offbeat and original characters, and spiced with a dash of romance and humanity for good measure.

Review: I had read and very much enjoyed Ian Saul Whitcomb’s Big Flipping Deal so I thought I was prepared for that book and had some idea of what I could expect from this author. His previous book had an unconventional pairing but apart from that, I didn’t find anything too weird or wacky. In this piece of work, Whitcomb has really put his weird hat on and delves into the world of supernatural, horny ghosts, scaly aliens, giant mermaids and snakes, heavenly orgies and lots of orgasms in the most unexpected ways. I can say four sure that if Lewis Carroll was writing erotica he’d write something just like Sexpossessed. It was a truly crazy romp and some of the imagery in it made me feel like I was joining the characters on an acid trip of massive proportions. The author truly unleashed all his creative fantasy in this book and went for an anything goes world. He defies the readers’ expectations at every turn and keeps them on their toes until the last pages. However, if it weren’t for the human, flawed characters, their love and devotion for each other, the themes of forgiveness and acceptance, this would be just another piece of erotica written for the shock value.

At the beginning, I thought the book would be a supernatural and straight variation of Big Flipping Deal. The main character and narrator Tim is an OCD, geeky man in his mid-thirties whose insecurities are just as many as the orgasms in the book. He is terrified of the idea of eating with fingers and even more conflicted when his gorgeous, sweet and equally nerdy girlfriend Liv asks for an addition to their sex life that evokes his ever presented germ phobia. After one crazy suggestion from his friend and wild card RPG partner Bill our lovers end up stuck with a bitchy ghost of a chubby goth chick with wanton sex drive and an equally sassy attitude. Julia turns out to be a lot more than just a nice, kinky variation in their erotic life and soon Tim and Liv find themselves over their head, thrust into a world beyond their wildest and most improbable fantasies.

Like I said, what truly makes this story special, is its characters and their development. Over the course of their wacky, sex romp adventure in the Afterlife Tim gets confronted with his phobias and has his boundaries pushed in more than one ways. Nice and sweet Liv deals with demons of her own as she struggles with her conflicted feelings for the ghost girl who turned their life upside down. Being the caring and compassionate person she is it is a real pain for her to be burdened with any negative feelings towards another human being, especially as strong as hate. That is something I rarely get to see in an erotic romance of any variety. As for Julia, the grumpy ghost with an attitude, she was probably the most complex character in the story. At first sight, she was spiky, defensive and an annoying intruder on Liv and Tim’s relationship. Eventually, we get to see more of the scared girl in need of affection and appreciation beneath the tough shell. She does some unjustifiable things and there were points in the story I felt like slapping her real hard. At times I truly wondered if she wasn’t a glutton for punishment but the truth was Julia was a good person who felt horrible about her actions and did what it take to redeem herself. That is always an admirable trait in a character. I grew to love her just as much as the other of that crazy trio and I was happy with how things turned out for that lost girl.

In the end, I was left with the sensation genuine intimacy between the characters. Their bond was fortified and they got to learn a lot about themselves in this series of obstacles they went through. Even if you are not a fan of the supernatural genre I’m sure you’d appreciate the human element.

The blurb promises a lot of sex and you sure are getting it. Be warned, not all of it is everyone’s cup of tea. At certain parts of the plot, I was often thinking “How the hell did he think of that?”. The sex scenes go from sensual to bizarre, from creepy and perverse to warm and romantic, to downright debauchery. Should you choose to read this book, even if some parts creep you out, I’d encourage you to go through them. The overall story is more than worth some moments of discomfort.

I must also compliment the author on the world he has built up as his idea of Afterlife. The descriptions were lush and visual and it shows he really did some serious thinking and conceptualization. I really felt like I was traveling with Tim, Liv, and Julia. The writing was flowing, without a single dull moment.

I’d recommend Sexpossessed to any reader who enjoys supernatural erotica and wants some human element and romance mixed in it. However, anyone who loves smart dialogue, intense emotions, character development and bizarre world building and those who don’t mind getting their limits pushed would enjoy that book.

Five Possessed Stars.
