Author Spotlight: Lucas X Black

Lucas has often said that guys like him are “dime a dozen” where he lives. Perhaps I should go out more and meet more people but still, I find him to be one of the most colorful and interesting writers I’ve ‘met’ during my self-publishing venture. His BDSM tales are laced with life experience, which gives them a sense of realism and that doesn’t make them less appealing or arousing to the mind and body. Lilah: Hello Lucas, it’s a great pleasure to have you here as a guest. You must be sick to death with that question but tell us more about your transition from a paramedic into a full-time writer. When did you get interested in writing and how did you decide that is what you want to do?

Author Spotlight: Patient Lee

She is a fun, quirky lady with a dirty imagination and fantasies that know no boundaries. She is also a devoted teacher, mother and wife who enjoys dabbling in what she calls “erotic realism”, the secret and spicy sexual life of ordinary folks that rarely find their place in erotic romance. Her tales combine the naughty, the kinky and the heart warming. It was a huge pleasure to invite Ms. Patient Lee for a little intimate chat.

Lilah: Hello Patient, thanks for taking time off your busy schedule to come and meet us. You describe your style of writing as “erotic realism”. Tell us more about it. How did you figure out that was your niche? Have you always been writing of ordinary people?

Patient: I didn’t realize there were other ways to write erotica. I never read fantasy or sci-fi, so I didn’t know I was doing something different. I haven’t even read Fifty Shades of Grey, so writing about billionaires didn’t occur to me. I started writing about my husband and me, and when I progressed into fiction, I stuck with people who were like us. Since then I’ve branched out of my comfort zone, writing about crab fishermen, gay men, homeless women, but I’m still drawn to the nitty-gritty, down-and-dirty, regular life of regular people.

Author Spotlight: Patrick Khayler

Patrick Khayler was one of the first writers of erotic romance of the opposite sex I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know. He is a creator of beautiful and sensual tales, fascinating characters and plots that keep the reader hooked to his novels. Make no mistake, my guest today is not a self-proclaimed Casanova who writes his books as memoirs. He is a loving husband and father and his significant other is his greatest muse. However, he also has a kinky, liberated mind, curiosity and incredible, clinical observance of human nature, sexuality, needs, and drives. Today I’ll present you his world of awakening. Hello, Patrick, it’s a huge pleasure to have you in here. How does it feel to be a man in a genre usually associated with female writers? Do you feel well among so many women?

Author Spotlight: Nia Farrell

Today I’ll meet you with one of the most interesting ladies I had the pleasure to talk to during those spotlights. It’s been a busy year for the prolific and talented author Nia Farrell. She successfully mixes history, supernatural, menage, romance and BDSM in her stories and the audience responds to that. Recently Nia reached the final round of the Golden Flogger Award competition in the Menage category. But the bigger ocassion for which I invited her for her Author Spotlight is the release of her biggest book so far, a Victorian menage novel named As Wicked As You Want that was release on August 1st. Author Spotlight: Pandora Spocks

Author Spotlight: R.B. O’Brien

There was a long hiatus in the Author Spotlight Thursdays but now we’re finally back on track. My next guest after the break is a special friend of mine but that is not the reason she is here. R.B. O’Brien is a lot more than an erotic romance author. Her writing, characters, and style feel alive on the e-reader screen /and hopefully someday the paper/. The Author Spotlight of Noir column has officially moved from Monday to Thursday and they’ll take place every week.
